What to choose: high quality one to one care vs in-network physical therapy
High deductibles and co-pays have made some cash-based clinics CHEAPER than their in-network competitors, BUT THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOESN'T KNOW THIS!
Be a smart consumer of your HEALTH and Healthcare. Give yourself the best care. Below are a few questions to ask insurance companies and in-network PT clinics when weighing your options for treatment, or are unsure of the cost difference between your cash-based clinic and an in-network option (let alone the difference in care).

Below are a few questions to ask insurance companies and in-network PT clinics when weighing your options for treatment, or are unsure of the cost difference between your cash-based clinic and an in-network option (let alone the difference in care).
Questions for insurance:
- "Until I meet my deductible, what can I expect to pay for each session of Physical Therapy at an in-network PT clinic?" (They may only be able to give percentages, but in general, PT clinics are likely billing at least $150 per session to the insurance company, and usually over $200/session)
- "What can I expect in reimbursement or application to deductible if I get physical therapy at an out-of-network provider, and send in self-claims" (Our 1-hour session is $120. And FYI: insurance companies' customer service agents are usually instructed to discourage people from going to clinics that are not in-network)
- "On average, how many patients per hour do your providers treat?"
- "Are only physical therapists providing care, or do you use assistants and techs?"
- "How much one-on-one time will I get with my physical therapist in each session, and on average, how many times per week do your patients come in for treatment?"
Insurance:ALIGN Integration | Movement, PLLC does not participate with any insurance companies. Clients are required to pay at the time of service and will be given a superbill to submit to their insurance for "Out of Network" provider reimbursement.
Susan wants to spend time with you to help you facilitate change within your body. Typically clinics that take insurance have to see 2-4 clients in an hour because insurance companies only pay half of what is billed. That means that clients have to work with technicians/aides that do not have training, or they get sent off to do exercises or modalities such as heat and electrical stimulation. I provide 55 minutes to one hour appointments that are one to one, hands on, collaborative care. In this environment, change is facilitated and fewer visits are needed. |

Follow up appointments: $140 Sessions will involve manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular reeducation, nervous system re-regulation, muscle and movement reeducation. Appropriate exercises will be given for a home program to assist you to decrease pain and restore function. Video Session: $120 Please wear shorts and a tank top or yoga type clothing to be able to visualize your body & alignment. Have enough space in the room where I can see you from head to feet. Have a yoga mat or a rolled towel and some pillows available for the session. Please Note: Your session fee includes treatment & documentation time. You will be given a follow up email with notes from the session and your Home Exercise Program. Biofield Tuning Sessions: $120 During a Biofield Tuning session, a client lies fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner activates a tuning fork and scans the body slowly beginning from a distance. The practitioner is feeling for resistance and turbulence in the client's bioenergy field, as well as listening for a change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork. When the practitioner encounters a turbulent area he/she continues to activate the tuning fork and hold it in that specific spot. Research suggests the body's organizational energy uses the steady coherent vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to "tune" itself. The dissonance resolves and the sense of resistance gives way. This appears to correspond to the release of tension within the body. ALIGN accepts cash, credit or check for payment. |
